Feature Request: External trigger when intensity goes below and above a limit

was titled: "no motion detectet since xy sec" but since the main feature was rejected I decided to change the title for the part that has been accepted for discussion. -- KennethLavrsen - 29 Aug 2005

Follow up

start a command if there are no motion since xy seconds - Yes smile

Just set the gap option to the time you need and let on_event_end start your command.

Picture too dark. No. That is not a feature in Motion. frown, sad smile

But the idea of an external trigger when intensity goes below and above a limit is not a bad idea.

I will consider that. It can be useful to turn on lamps or IR LEDs etc. Or change camera to B/W. etc.

Yeah. I want this too. Just need to find out how to implement it so it adds no load and does not oscillate when brightness changes.

Yea, it needs to "check" the brightness every X minutes, like I would do it once per hour so that it would turn on a IR LED after dark and then I don't have to put it on some sort of timer which always gets messed up. The question would be how to get it to turn the LED off at the right time.
