Using the Webcam Server with Motion Detection

Question

I'd like to use the webcam server option of Motion to broadcast a stream (of jpgs) to the internet when a motion is detected (to safe server load). However when you connect to the webcam server when it is running, it only shows an image after a motion has been detected. When there is no motion you'll get a time-out error after a while.

Is it possible broadcast the last image (after a previous motion) so that people connecting to the webcam server can see this image. And of course start updating images when there is a motion detected.

Answer

I have considered this myself. I also find the current implementation not too good.

I will implement something when I find some time for it. Thanks for reminding me.
