Recording Skips Frames

Question

I have 3 cameras set up 2 v4l and 1 netcam. The seem to work fine (ie they detect motion and start recording and stop when the motion is done) but when you view this recording there seems to be several seconds missing, it will just jump ahead several seconds. This is not a framerate issuee it doesn't happen say every 2 seconds but it happens when there is a lot of motion in the image. I have all round robin stuff turned off. My threshold is 100 for each of the cameras and the noise level is at 32. I am not using the lightswitch feature yet but when I did try it it made this problem much much worse. Any Ideas?

Nick

Environment

Answer

Nick:

Would you be able to please include your motion.conf file and all pertinent thread config files? (SupportGuidelines)

Thanks, P

Sorry I posted these with another question but here they are.

Nick

pre_capture 50

Please read the pre_capture topic from the Motion Guide.

Keep it very low. The higher framerate and/or slower CPU the lower value. It was designed for value 2-5.

post_capture can be as big as you want it to be.
