HTTP server only serves at about 1 frame per second
Question
Greetings - How can I get the HTTP server to serve at more than 1 frame per second?
I am trying to use Motion only as a streaming webcam server on my LAN. I don't need to save any images or video files or even detect any actual motion (sorry but the package and text-based configuration file are so nice I want to use it without actual motion detection for now).
I have tried every permutation of the config that I can think of, but the actual stream never gets more than about 1fps. When I open and play back the captured video file (avi) it shows a normally moving image at high frame rate. This seems to indicate that the actual camera recognition and capture is OK.
I've tried with 2 cameras (Logitech C-910 and C-920) and both are recognized by Motion and video is captured and served - but the serving is very slow at 1fps. I also tried with 2 different computers running different flavors of Ubuntu (12.04 and an older version). As a control test, I tried various capture programs like guvcview and all operate normally.
I also stream HD video from other sources on the LAN with these computers and bandwidth does not appear to be a problem. I assume that I have not configured things correctly but I just can't seem to see my mistake.
I would appreciate help to get the streaming part working at a reasonable frame rate - maybe 5 - 15 fps.
The current configuration is below in the Verbatim Text entry.
Thank you very much in advance -
Joel
