No motion detected in netcam (Axis) though motion previously detected in webcam
Question
I am able to successfully run Motion with a Phillips webcam and detect motion, capturing a series of event-related JPEGs. However, when I set up Motion for my Axis camera according to the netcam instructions, it reads the stream and appears to be working fine (according to debug level 9 output), though there is never a motion detection event, even when a hand is waved right in front of the camera. There are no errors (that I can tell), and the changing files sizes when I induce a motion event clearly shows that there are significant changes in the image content.
I have experimented with adjusting various parameters (had been using despeckle, now have it off; commented out every line associated with webcam server; adding the netcam url into the thread file, taking it out again; reducing pixels changed from 1500 to 500; etc).
MJPEG output from the Axis is 2 fps, resolution is 4CIF.
[Update: I was able to change the aspect ratio to 640x480 and rerun. Same results]
I monitored it while creating this debug log to ensure motion was clearly occurring.
Could find no syslogs in /var/
