Using motion with stream from VLC
Question
First of all I'd like to thank everyone who's even reading this.
I've been working on a video monitoring/recording for my house for a while now, using a single board PC (cubieboard) and motion.
I have some IP cameras that provide me with a MPEG stream that motion recognises work just fine.
The cameras are quite far away from my router, so the wifi is kindda weak there and when I try to access the stream remotelly it gets really slow and non responsive. To solve that I am using VLC to get the camera stream and re-stream it to whoever needs it, including motion.
The thing is, motion is not being able to read the VLC's stream.
Following this topic
http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/FeatureRequest2009x07x14x150700
I think I got it working once, but now I formated my cubieboard and cannot get it working again!
If anyone would please be so kind as to enlighten me in this I would appreciate very much.
