Problem with access right to target directory

Question

Hi All, I'm running Motion on a Raspberry Pi2. Everything seems to work OK as long as the target directory is set to the default /var/lib/motion. but when I change it to my flash disc, the log file shows: " Error opening file media/jp/FDisc/motion/xxxxx.avi ... check access rights to target directory. Thread is going to finish due to this fatal error". I used CHMOD to change the access rights to "drwxrwxrwx 4 jp motion 4096" (=result ls -l command; jp and motion the users) Anybody any ideas what the problem may be Thanks PuckeyP
