Camera refocusing causes false positive motion detection

Question

When using motion, I find that the camera sometimes refocuses, and that motion incorrectly interprets this as a motion event. Is there any way to avoid this?

Environment

Motion version: 3.2.12
ffmpeg version:
Libraries: ffmpeg, mysql, postgresql
Server OS: Ubuntu 10.10

Answer

-- AndrewBurgess - 09 Jun 2011 I would give the lightswitch option a try. http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/MotionGuideBasicFeatures#lightswitch. You might have to adjust the 5 frames value in the source code or even better add a config option to optionally set it; maybe something like: "lightswitch 50:20" meaning 50% and 20 frames. HTH
