Detection on slow turning boat; maximal threshold

Hello,

I am new to motion and have a question, which I just cannot figure out: When using motion on a boat at a mooring, which slowly turns with the changing wind direction: How can I set up motion in order to detect a real motion (i.e. another boat passing by with maybe 20% pixel changing) and NOT detect a turning of the boat with the wind (i.e. having nearly all the pixel changing)? Is there anything like a maximum threshold? Or will the lightswitch option or minimum_motion_frames do the job?

How would you do the setup? Thanks for brief answers...

Answer

I'd have a look at the smart_mask_speed option, and maybe increasing your motion pixel threshold.
