I have been seeing some very strange behavior from Motion since updating to 3.2.8. I use several analog cameras on a single pci card, but each has its own chip. Occasionally I return to my computer to find a massive video file being recorded and after investigating, it seems that Motion keeps an "old" frame and keeps inserting it into the video stream causing constant Motion. The best way to see what I mean is to see the attached video clip of such an event. You can see the second truck disappear every forth frame because it looks like Motion adds in an old reference frame.

Follow up
I never saw this.
Andrew - have you tried the current SVN? A lot has been rewritten related to pre-capture.
