black screen on web preview
Question
I have installed the ubuntu packaged version of motion, along with a Logitech, Inc.
QuickCam Communicate Deluxe.
In vlc I can see an image.
I start motion "motion -s" and if I walk infront of the camera it saves a movie. However, when I go to localhost:8081 I get a black square with D L N setup and not the preview. How do I get it to display the preview please when in setup mode?If run motion without the -s I see the preview.

Answer
You have to run motion without setup_mode on, so don't run motion with -s option, run motion as following instead :
./motion -n
