Motion - Support Question 2014x 12x 13x 040558

Fedora 20->21 motion stopped working.

Question

Hi there, thanks for your work. Motion worked fine with F20. After the update to F21, with the same config file, when run it gives the error message below. As if it stopped recognising any of the options for recording video. I rebuilt the config file from the distribution examples in /usr/share/motion/examples to no avail. It does not recognise them. It starts but only takes stills (jpegs). No videos.

My camera works great otherwise.

Many thanks again!

Answer

This means you are using motion compiled without ffmpeg support. You need to install motion from different source or compile your own with ffmpeg support
